Detour. No way out
Maya, driving her off-road vehicle with her children Clarissa and Mattia on board, has gotten lost.
She may have taken the wrong turn because of the storm, her phone has no signal and there is no trace of the Regional Road 48—outside, there are only forests and rain. After swerving to avoid a boulder falling in the middle of the road, she arrives in an abandoned village. A camper, a van, and a pair of cyclists are parked around the small square. Shortly after, another family arrives, along with five motorcyclists, a man driving a Panda, two young men on their mountain bikes, and a woman. They all seem to have ended up there by chance, and they all look around in confusion, scanning a sky that is already black at three in the afternoon. It doesn’t take long for them to realize they are trapped there, with no way out. It’s absurd, but there is neither a road nor a path they can take to leave that place, which, hour by hour, grows more menacing, as if swallowing its visitors into nothingness…
