On a late summer afternoon, a curious volume with a palindromic title, that is one that can also be read backwards, comes into the hands of the Slackers of Malaysia, a literary club made up of four children. The strange fact is that the author died shortly after the book was published, and the initials of the chapters appear to compose a mysterious sentence… Perhaps a cry for help, wonder the children. The Slackers investigate and discover that the original manuscript, which arrived at the publishing house by post, can no longer be found. And the editor who worked on it disappeared a few days ago too…

Pierdomenico Baccalario has been writing children’s novels since 1997, when he won the Il Battello a Vapore literary prize with La strada del Guerriero (The Way of the Warrior) using his neighbour’s name.
